Hi, I’m Nikki!

Thank you so much for visiting my website and expressing interest in my passion, I am truly grateful. A bit about my life here in the beautiful, sunny, state of California. I am married to the absolute love of my life, and have the most beautiful toddler I ever did see. I like long walks on the beach, haha JUST KIDDING. I am glad you made it this far, so let me tell you why I started Aura Light Photography. The short version, you could say I grew up in a family who lived for pictures. Bi-weekly Sams Club film drop offs were a staple in our routine. Our Family Room was wall to wall - floor to ceiling book shelves filled with precious photo albums. I remember as a child wanting to "read" albums for bed time over traditional bedtime stories (I did love me some Precious Moments bible stories too). I loved being able to revisit any day in my past by simply looking at a picture. To be able to really feel that specific moment again, honestly was pretty magical to me. Naturally when I became old enough to operate a camera, I wanted to capture as many memories as possible to look back on. I haven't stopped taking pictures since !

I was 33 years old and pregnant! I knew I was only going to have one child. I also knew I needed to capture this moment in the most special way! So I booked a studio photoshoot. Instantly I was hooked. The entire vibe and energy in the studio was like nothing I had experienced. The different controlled lighting techniques, wardrobe changes, and magazine style editing used, truly had me enamored. As soon as I left, I knew I wanted to start a studio photography business. 

After having my son Dax, I was faced with my true growth as a human. He shook up all the dirt that needed some shaking. He helped me face my true self,who I was and who I wanted to be. Most of my life was never lived honoring my true authentic self, it was run by insecurity, fear and lack of self confidence. As I experienced energy work for the first time postpartum,(which is where the name Aura Light came from), I have become truly present in my body, mind, and heart.  

I am now brave, courageous, integrous, and intentional with every moment of my life, and will not settle for anything less. I lead by example for my Son. I want my Son to always follow his passion and honor his true authentic self. I can only teach this to him by living my life this way in front of him. So, this is truly where Aura Light Photography started, honestly! I finally honored my true authentic self, passion and was brave enough to put my work out there, and believe in myself enough to start this business! My son has been my biggest teacher in life, and I am forever grateful to him for gifting that to me. 

I have a passion for photography, a desire to create and capture the most beautiful, creative, timeless images, and share them with the world. So that is exactly what I am doing.
